What inspired you to start Blume?
Blume exists because mainstream tampon brands are not required to disclose their ingredients, only 24 states mandate sex ed in the US, and Ontario just reverted back to a pre-1999 sex ed curriculum.
Blume was first started out of my own frustration of not being able to have organic pads and tampons delivered to my door (and always running out), when there was a subscription available for pretty much all other personal care products. Soon after, my sister Bunny (who is also my co-founder) found out she had PCOS and that it was the reason for her very painful periods. She was unable to get a diagnosis for a long time, and not given a solution for her cramps, thereafter.
The common thread in these problems, we found, was that because of the stigma associated with periods, innovation and change was held back in this space. Blume is closing that gap to be the brand girls grow up with, from education to all natural self care products.
What does your typical day look like?
My days are always really different, which I’m super thankful for! But a typical quieter work day looks like this:
I wake up, drink lots of water and take a wellness shot (cayenne + lemon juice + ACV + turmeric + ginger) that I make in batches every Sunday. I try to meditate. I always write in my 5 Minute Journal, because it starts my day on such a great note reflecting on what I’m grateful. Then I check Blume’s social media and reply to customers. I love looking at posts we’ve been tagged in, followers we got overnight and and unboxings from our customers!
After that I grab a big cup of coffee and get right into work. I like to get to urgent work and emails early, before I’m interrupted throughout the day. I’ll eat breakfast a little later and I generally workout in the evenings.
I time block religiously and put everything in my Google calendar. This could range from working on partnerships, team meetings, scheduling social media posts, or if we’re fundraising, prepping materials for investors!

Do you have any morning routines or evening rituals to keep you stay balanced?
I have both! The busier I get, the more I crave rituals to stay balanced.
In the mornings, the first thing I always do is drink two big glasses of water. And then I do what I mentioned in my day routine above!
For evenings, it depends how busy of a day it was or how badly my skin and body needs some TLC. I usually play music or listen to a podcast while I unwind. Sometimes I facemask or give myself a facial massage with my gua sha. I stretch and write in my 5 Minute Journal again while I drink some cherry juice (it helps make me really sleepy because of the natural melatonin). I usually set my intentions for the next day and look over my calendar before I hit the hay!
