Your schedule must be so hectic with the three businesses you own! How do you manage your time and what drives you?
My phone calendar is my holy grail. I start my day by reviewing the day's to-do's, the same way someone drinks coffee or checks their IG as they wake up. It goes hand in hand with my daily prayer! I make appointments with everyone for everything LOL. Doesn't matter if it's a casual dinner with girlfriends or an actual meeting at HQ... you're getting a meeting invite, you're getting a meeting invite, EVERYONE is getting a meeting invite!

You are a huge advocate for at-risk female youth. Why is this cause so dear to your heart?
To be frank, I'm a product of my own environment. I grew up in one of Toronto's top priority neighbourhoods, Regent Park. That place 25 years ago wasn't anything that it is today. It also wasn't the land of manicured grass, white picket fences or vast opportunities. I was surrounded by drugs, prostitutes and crime. I could have easily gone down the wrong path, worse dead, but through the grace of God and United Way's Central Neighbourhood House, I was able to be mentored and learn invaluable life lessons to make better decisions for myself and my future. Now, I think I'm in a good position whereby I can say with confidence, that I've made something of myself. I think it's the right time to live out my purpose and that is to serve those that grew up just like me and show them that a better life exists outside of the 'hood IF you work hard, remain focused on your goals and make better decisions despite your environment and negative influences.

What does your typical day look like?
I still have my 9-5 post as a Senior New Media Consultant at the Ministry of the Attorney General, so those hours from Monday to Friday are dedicated to public service. From 5 - 9 is everything else under the sun. From restaurant site visits, vendor/sponsorship meetings, building client brands, websites and marketing strategies and EVERYTHING in between my day is always on FULL TILT. Last but never the least, I'm a mom of a 16 year old, the apple of my eye, the "son" of my shine. He is my top priority!

What was the worst piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
Ohhhhh chileeeeeee, that's a tricky one. Too many to list. However, I will share a story with you, when I was a new mom, my husband at the time didn't really take my entrepreneurial endeavours seriously. He questioned everything I did and always asked why I worked so hard for little reward. I didn't realize it then, but I knew I was destined for more. Despite his non-supportiveness and his skepticism, I believed in myself, even though, I had nothing. I trusted my own instincts and continued on my path. I eventually moved on from him and 11 years later, I'm proud to say I've accomplished a lot. The first (of many), ultimate to-dos on my checklist, provide my son with his first job at MY company. DONE ✅

Do you have any morning routines or evening rituals to help you stay balanced?
I'm honestly proud to say I'm not a morning person at all. I hate to wake up early especially if the sun hasn't risen. BUT I make it a point to say "good morning" and "good night" to those I communicate with ALL. DAY. LONG. I also try (really hard) to sit down at the dining table with my son without any phones or related distractions, during dinner. Ask about each others' day and have some authentic and meaningful conversation with one another. It really is different then communicating through a screen and a keyboard. It really sets the tone for the evening, to unwind and let go of the day's excitement.

What’s  one skincare product you can’t live without?
I was never one for skincare products, BUT since I've been introduced to NIU BODY's facial serum, I'm 100% converted. It has really changed my view on facial moisturizers. It keeps my face extremely moisturized without feeling oily. It leaves my skin feeling soooooo smooth and I love the way it smells. Thank you Connie! Really great recommend! I absolutely swear by it!
